Podcasts

I've really got into podcasts in the last couple of months and it must be really hard for some of the 'casters.

I can understand how you have 'team' podcasts, a group of people doing it every episode, they at least have each other to bounce ideas and subjects of each other and you can build a rhythm to the thing, but solo podcasts, especially subject based ones, seem to me at least to be quite hard to get started and to keep it going. And the time and concentration to keep at it seems great.

I mean, I took time on this short post to think about what I wanted to say, how I was going to say it and half way through I broke off because Leonard Cohen's Suzanne came on to my mixed mp3's and I alway stop and listen to the song, incredibly relaxing music. I then got distracted by checking my flist and then came back and continued this post.

Anyway, podcasts. Right. Now it may be that I don't enjoy public speaking even once removed, am too self concious or I could just be rambling about a stray thought that came into my head while I was in the post, but it does take a certain type of person or people willing to take the time out to write some kind of script, edit it, do, or not depending on the 'caster test runs and edit their own sort of radio show.

Which is probably interesting fodder enough for another post about self posted radio shows, which is what podcast really are at heart. I'll probably be drinking though so expect the coherent writing you've recieved today.
