Christmas events
Dec. 23rd, 2010 01:05 pmI've had a brilliant couple of days this week, today is my last day working.this year and I've gone to two great nights. I went to see Baba Brinkman where he rapped where some of things he rapped about were evolutionary psychology and ancient myths and legends like Beowulf & Gilgamesh.
The other amazing night I had was at 9 Lessons and Carols for Godless People, which Robin Ince rightly describes as a cross between the Royal Society Christmas Lectures and a variety show. Two of the best things involved Simon Simon Singh, one of which was that Simon Singh helped a member of the audience to propose to his girlfriend and from Simon's own twitter:
Last night M Du Sautoy + I played Swanee whistle & frog, and acted as backing singers for Mr Buckley Hill's song about Fermat's Last Theorem
And for a christmassy feeling I give you this song by George Hrab, skeptical singer and podcaster.
