Hello, I've rediscovered the UK series Hex that was shown on Sky1 before Branson bought up Telewest Cable and had a hissyfit with the Sky bosses.
But first off, I went to see the recent Sean Bean, Danny Dyer and Bob Hoskins movie, Outlaw, earlier tonight, no wait, last night. Er... the evening of March 10th. Right anyway, the film was good, but I walked out before the end.
The film had several problems, but the biggest was the quality of violence. This was not Hollywood violence, this was not TV, or even HBO violence, having watched several import shows, this was unpleasent violence. Unsettling violence, real violence in other words. Or it seemed that way anyway. The camerawork was unsteady and gave the feeling of documentary work. All the actors gave good performances, even Danny Dyer went beyond his normal 'London geezer' performance, just a bit too heavy for me. I'll be sure to see The Good German or The Illusionist tomorrow or this afternoon or evening, whatever.
Ahem. Right, Hex. Good scifi/Horror TV show in the same vein as Buffy, just different, and not as good. But fun in a odd kinda way. You can watch on Youtube and decide for yourself.
Enjoy.
